Terms of Service
Last updated: March 13, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using DocGL ("the Service", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or accessing the Service, you ("the Client") agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Service Description
DocGL is a document generation platform. We provide tools for designing template structures to create dynamic PDF documents and expose API endpoints so you can integrate document generation directly into your own applications or workflows.
How it works:
- You design document templates using the DocGL editor.
- You send JSON payloads containing your data to our API endpoints.
- DocGL generates the PDF document by merging your data with the specified template.
- The resulting document is made available for download or delivered to your configured storage destination.
The number of document generations per calendar month and the number of templates you may create are governed by the subscription plan you have chosen. Limits reset at the start of each billing period.
2. Account Requirements
To use DocGL you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age, or have reached the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, or have the legal authority to enter into binding contracts on behalf of an organisation.
- Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date registration information.
- Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials, including API keys and passwords.
- Not share access to your account, API keys, or any credential that would allow a third party to act on your behalf without explicit authorisation.
- Promptly notify us at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. User-Generated Content
Ownership
You retain full ownership of all templates you create and all data you submit to the Service. DocGL does not claim any ownership rights over your templates or the documents you generate.
Right to Access
DocGL personnel will not access your templates or API payloads except:
- When technically required to investigate a support request you have opened, and only with your explicit consent at the time of the request.
- When required by applicable law, court order, or regulatory authority.
Acceptable Use
You represent and warrant that your templates and data comply with all applicable laws and regulations. The following types of content are strictly prohibited:
- Templates or data designed to generate illegal documents, including fraudulent contracts, forged government documents, or any document intended to deceive.
- Content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights, including but not limited to copyrighted text, logos, or images.
- Content that is defamatory, harassing, abusive, obscene, or promotes violence or discrimination.
- Content that facilitates or promotes criminal activity of any kind.
DocGL reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions.
4. API Usage Rules
Generation Limits
There are no rate limits on API calls in terms of requests per second or per minute; however, the total number of document generations per calendar month is capped by your subscription plan. Unused generations do not roll over to subsequent billing periods.
Prohibited Uses
Regardless of plan, the following uses of the API are strictly prohibited:
- Automated spam or bulk unsolicited distribution: using the API to mass-produce documents intended for unsolicited distribution.
- Illegal document generation: generating documents that misrepresent identities, forge official records, or assist in fraud or other unlawful acts.
- Reselling or sublicensing: reselling, sub-licensing, or white-labelling API access to third parties without a separate written agreement with DocGL.
- Abuse of service: intentional overuse designed to degrade service availability for other users.
DocGL reserves the right to monitor API usage patterns and suspend access if prohibited use is detected.
5. Service Availability and Uptime
As-Is Availability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted, or error-free access to the Service.
Planned Maintenance
We may perform planned maintenance from time to time. Maintenance may cause temporary interruptions and may occur with or without prior notice.
Liability for Downtime and Data Loss
DocGL shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from:
- Service interruptions, downtime, or delays, whether planned or unplanned.
- Loss of data caused by technical failures, infrastructure outages, or events outside our reasonable control.
- Inability to access your account or generated documents during an outage.
6. Payment, Billing, and Refunds
Subscription Tiers
DocGL offers multiple subscription plans with different generation limits, template allowances, and feature sets. Current pricing and plan details are available on the pricing page.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings page. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle; you retain access to your plan's features until that date.
Refunds
Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable. If you need help with a billing issue, please contact us at [email protected].
7. Intellectual Property
DocGL's Property
All right, title, and interest in and to the DocGL platform — including the web editor, API infrastructure, documentation, user interface, and all DocGL branding, logos, and trademarks — is and remains the exclusive property of DocGL and its licensors.
Your Property
You own the templates you design and the PDF documents you generate using the Service. DocGL does not acquire any licence to your templates beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the Service (i.e., storing and processing them on your behalf).
Restrictions
You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service.
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service or any part thereof.
- Access the Service through automated means for the purpose of scraping, data extraction, or competitive intelligence.
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the Service.
8. Termination of Service
Suspension by DocGL
DocGL may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if:
- You violate any provision of these Terms.
- We reasonably suspect fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity on your account.
- You fail to pay fees when due, subject to the payment notice process described below.
- We are required to do so by law or a regulatory authority.
Non-Payment
If payment is overdue, we may issue a notice through your account notifications when that feature is available, or by other reasonable means. You will have 5 days from that notice to resolve the outstanding payment before your subscription may be suspended.
Cancellation by You
You may terminate your account at any time by following the account deletion process in your account settings page.
Handling of Data After Termination
Upon account termination initiated by you, your account will be deactivated and your data will be retained for 30 days before permanent deletion so that account recovery may be requested during that period. After that retention period, the remaining associated data is permanently deleted, including:
- Your account profile and credentials.
- All templates stored in your account.
- Generated PDF outputs stored on DocGL's infrastructure.
- API keys and configuration data.
If your account is terminated by DocGL for fraud, abuse, legal reasons, or other serious violations of these Terms, we may disable access immediately and may shorten or remove the recovery period where reasonably necessary. If you wish to keep your templates or generated documents, you should export them before terminating your account.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and provide notice by email, in-product notice, or another reasonable method. Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Liability and Warranty Disclaimers
No Legal Compliance Guarantee
DocGL generates PDF documents based on your templates and data. We make no representation or warranty that any generated document will meet the legal compliance standards of any jurisdiction, including requirements for electronic signatures, official certifications, or notarisation. You are solely responsible for reviewing and validating generated documents for legal suitability.
No Responsibility for User Errors
We are not responsible for inaccuracies, errors, or omissions in documents arising from:
- Incorrect data submitted in your API payloads.
- Errors in your template logic or design.
- Misconfigurations in your integration.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DocGL's total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
In no event shall DocGL be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Brazil.
